PROJECT INFO

LAUSD’s Venice High School Comprehensive Modernization project includes seven new buildings consisting of general classrooms, labs and associated storage and support spaces. The project will feature a new gymnasium building consisting of a main and a practice gymnasium space, locker/shower rooms, a weight room, and aerobics/dance space. The project includes new parking lots, new outdoor athletic spaces, including a new competition track field, new softball and baseball fields, concessions, restrooms, and modern tennis and basketball hard court areas. Construction began in May 2018 and is expected to be completed in May 2022.

Pan-Pacific Mechanical is performing HVAC, Plumbing services and Underground Utilities on the $123 Million remodel and modernization. Working alongside General Contractor Hensel Phelps on the Design-Build project, PPM’s plumbing scope on the project included domestic plumbing systems such as domestic hot & cold, sanitary waste & vent, storm drain, irrigation, gas and all related equipment.

HVAC work included unitary rooftop units with modulating power exhausts for maintaining building pressure, split systems for cooling electrical and LAN rooms, general exhaust fans and an exhaust fan for the Auto Shop vehicle exhaust. (ECEMS) Environmental Controls & Energy Management Systems with new PC workstations were integrated into the existing campus.

Site Utilities included upgrading the existing low pressure gas to medium pressure and installing gas pressure regulators at new and existing buildings to LAUSD and Southern California gas standards.
